My problem was that my macbook battery was defective or something and it kept expanding and eventually expanded so much that the back cover popped off. I got a new battery and it was working fine for a couple weeks but now this one is getting really hot and the mac has started automatically shutting down when it gets really hot. So, to fix this I got one of those laptop coolers that has little fans under it. It helps out a lot, but I still can't use it for longer than 3 hours without it overheating.
